Steaming Days

We hold Steaming Days between March and November. See dates below.

On these days you can see our Engines and looms in operation, we have guided tours which explain the history of the mill, and the museum, and we aim to answer as many of your questions as we can. The volunteers are also happy to answer questions, but please try not to distract them while they are running machinery.

On Steaming Days our Café offers hot and cold drinks and cakes.

We also have a Gift Shop with a wide range of souvenirs including tea towels woven on one of our vintage looms, Bancroft Mill Mugs, Fridge Magnets and Key Rings.

We offer free car parking, and the majority of the site is accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. Please let us know on arrival if you require help, as we can open additional gates to make things easier for you.

It is often possible to visit on Saturdays, when our Volunteers will be working on site, though the engines will not be running. Please check on arrival that it is safe to come in.
